Not bad this, watched the feature length first episode tonight. Peter Krause is good value and it's all very intriguing.

I saw that shit was on the Sci-Fi channel over here a couple of weeks ago, but I missed it. It looked pretty trippy. Is it a series or a mini-series?

It's a mini-series, three episodes. The first was feature length, I'm unsure as to whether the remainder will have the same running time.

It's good. Nice, intriguing bit of sci-fi with more than a few shades of The Outer Limits and the Twighlight Zone.

    What's it about?

'Detective Joe Miller is searching for his daughter who has been trapped inside Room 10 of the Sunshine Motel on Route 66. Inside this mystical room were several seemingly ordinary objects: a pair of scissors, a comb, eyeglasses... but each gives to its possessor an extraordinary power! The objects are so powerful that mystical societies were formed to collect and control them. '

There's this key that comes into Krause's possession and he can use it to open and enter any door in the world by way of first walking into this motel room. There are supposedly these other items that were once in the room, stuff like a clock, letter opener, pen and all of these items can do strange things. The pen can burn people alive, the letter opener sends people to sleep. There's a bus ticket that sends people to New Mexico if they're touched on the head with it. There are good and evil people after these items, Kevin Pollack being one of the main evil bastards and Julianna Margulies being one of the good guys. I think. Krause's daughter gets lost somehow when she goes into the room and doesn't come back out. I think the rest of the series will involve him solving this and that in order to get her back.

Did you ever get into Six Feet Under? I watched a couple of times and Krause seemed pretty good in that. I never was able to quite stay with the show, though. I'm not sure if it was poor timing when it aired or possibly just not my bag.

Have you guys gotten Arrested Development over there yet?

We've had arrested development for a few years. I watch it infrequently as I don't care for watching shows I haven't seen from the absolute get-go. I'll catch up with it at some stage via dvd or download/stream.

Six Feet Under was initially great for the first few seasons. It got bogged down with sentimentality and repetition at some stage, wore its liberal heart on its sleeve a little too much sometimes and the endless dream sequences became annoying and distracting. Definitely a superior television programme though.

I'll probably catch up to Six Feet Under one of these days. Arrested Development is fantastic, you can't miss that one, Will Arnett steals that whole show. How about Rescue Me, that one over there yet?

Rescue Me is here also. Another one I've heard is good but I'm again well behind. Ideally a random friend will buy that on DVD and I'll steal it off him.
