My favorite med spa treatment — Skin Pen

Such a transformative microneedling treatment.

The SkinPen works by creating millions of micro-channels on the surface of your skin, sending it into healing mode. This is where your body takes over to produce more collagen and elastin, which are the keys to healthy, youthful-looking skin. It helps with fine lines and wrinkles, pore size, scarring, spots and more.

I get one to three treatments spaced apart depending on my skin’s appearance. The great part is you’ll keep seeing results long after you’ve had the treatments.

Topical numbing gel is applied before you start. You’ll feel some prickling sensations during but it’s more surprising at first than anything. After the treatment you will still feel the numbing effects. You’ll be given some Uplift gel to apply that further enhances the healing process and help with any tightness.

You can see the treatment causes some pretty big redness that can last for a few days. If you’re prone to redness you can also request some of the Rescue gel to take with you. You can also use tinted moisturizer as things calm back down.
